The West Otago Theatrical Society (formerly known as the West Otago Musical Society) was formed in Tapanui in 1982. Our first show was performed in the Old Town Hall, the site of the present West Otago Community Centre, which houses the theatre today.
Since then, productions, from Broadway hits to locally scripted shows, have been staged every year. The high calibre of local talent ranges in age and membership is open to all ages and sectors of the community. Our 204 raked-seat theatre boasts state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment and provides an intimate setting for patrons who come from all over to enjoy our live stage shows. |
